Premium Katsuobushi Bonito Flakes – 500 g
Katsuobushi is one of the foundations of Japanese cuisine, made from dried, smoked and fermented skipjack tuna (Katsuwonus pelamis). Rich in natural umami (inosinate), it is the essential ingredient for preparing authentic dashi stock.
This premium quality katsuobushi contains only the purest part of the fish – free from the darker dorsal bloodline, resulting in a clean, elegant flavour without bitterness or iron notes.

Preparation (dashi):
Heat 500 ml water. Just before boiling, add 20 g bonito flakes, simmer for 1 minute. Turn off heat and let steep 2–3 min. Strain before use.
