Sicily’s unique climate – marked by strong day-to-night temperature variations and intense sunshine – creates ideal conditions for producing exceptional citrus fruits. Ponthier has selected carefully balanced and flavourful Sicilian blood oranges grown on a remarkably fertile volcanic terroir, surrounded by mountains.
These mountainous soils, known as Trubi or white marls, are rich in limestone, fine yellow sands and minerals, offering excellent natural drainage. Numerous small streams regularly nourish the land, while the island’s constant sun exposure ensures healthy trees and fruit of outstanding quality.
This 100% blood orange purée delivers bright acidity, distinctive citrus bitterness and a long, refreshing finish, making it a perfect ingredient for professional pastry and gastronomy.
